Blog Topic 7:  Superhero Powers and Bucket List

Have we talked about "bucket lists" yet?  There's an idiom "kick the bucket" that means to die.  So a bucket list is the things you want to do before you kick the bucket (die).  So how about you?  Give us a few things on your list.  What do you want to do?  They don't all have to be serious ones either; you can tell us some fun/ small things too!  (A few students suggested something like this for a topic).

Finally, (another student suggestion) if you could have a superhero power, what would it be?  (the ability to fly, invisibility, superstrength, superspeed, supergrammar, etc.)  Why?

Have fun with your last post and feel free to include anything else you want to say.  I'll post my own response to this topic later in the week too.

Due: Friday, Dec. 7  11am

Mark's response

Well, as for a superpower, I think I'd choose flying. I think the feeling of flying would be incredible. It would be convenient too; I could skip traffic and avoid parking and plane tickets and all kinds of problems.

As for my bucket list, I don't have too much that I'm set on doing.... is that a bad thing? I want to go surfing at night, and I want to go hunting. Those are two things on my life list. I want it visit Morocco and maybe Iceland and Mongolia.  I would like to have children.  I just remembered that my number one thing is to visit all eight of the islands located off the coast of Southern California.  I have been to 3 out of the 8 so far.

A few things I have already checked off my bucket list are visiting Machu Picchu in Peru, swimming with sea turtles, and teaching English in Iraq.
